From The Columbus Dispatch Ohio’s governor and his challenger both find themselves before the Ohio Supreme Court in disputes over public records and personal security and safety.
The Ohio Republican Party asked the state’s high court yesterday to order Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ed FitzGerald to release key-card-swipe records showing his comings and goings from his county office.
The Cuyahoga County executive has refused to release the records that the Republican Party sought on May 22 after previously citing security concerns. The party says FitzGerald has not responded to its request.
Meanwhile, the Ohio Supreme Court will rule in coming months whether the office of Gov. John Kasich and the State Highway Patrol have improperly withheld completed patrol investigations of threats against the governor.
